Easter Hols Part 2 - Amsterdam, Holland

4, 5, 6 Apr 2007

Day 1
We took a train from Brussels to Amsterdam in the morning.
Our hostel in Amsterdam.

The beds were squeaky, but it was quite a nice stay.

This whole street is just filled with souvenir shops. Amsterdam is an interesting place... Well, I do like the vibrant life in it, but I wouldn't want to stay here for long. Its too "dirty-minded" for a girl like me. You will see what I mean later on...

On board canal cruise

The houses are flat in front and they are narrow. The buildings look the same, yet have different designs. Their windows are very big, such that it is easy to move furnitures through them.

Near where we lived, there were alot of shops selling pizzas and waffles. We had them for lunch.

Some sights

A horse in the dam square!

Erm... this is the part of amsterdam which i didn't really liked, but as a tourist I went into this museum. omg.

RED Light District

We walked along the red light district at night. There were many girls, almost naked, making business. They each have a door or window to sell themselves, and these windows had red lights. Some guys will knock on their doors and discuss the price, and if a deal is made, then the curtains will be drawn from their windows. Yea, this is also the part of Amsterdam which i didn't like, but it was interesting to see such things. Well... feel sad for those girls.

Behind the red light district, there was a chinatown street! The roasted duck and smell of chinese food made us miss singapore food. Sad.

Day 2
StroopWaffles craze!!
Daryl bought alot to send home for his dear brother who loves them very much. I liked them too!

Heineken experience. We had alot of fun here at the brewery. Though we didn't get to see the real process of beer brewery, it was really fun in there! They had simulators, which we were treated as a beer bottle and sent through the different processes. There were also games and many other fun stuff.

The pic on the top right are seats where we can see Heinekein advertisements from very early years till today!

And we got to drink 3 glasses of Heinekein beer! I only drank one glass.. and ordered an orange drink and wasted another glass of beer. Heineken tasted good! :) So good that I was bought a jacket which has Heinekein printed on it.. :P

Holland's own beer

We also get to send our pictures and video msges there to our emails!

Next up, Amsterdam Arena!

So pretty right!!!

We got to go to the control room and also the press conference room! Haha, I am the newly signed striker, Yvonne Van De Tan.

Really good and expensive fries!! Long queues all the time. Big thick fries with lots of cheese and maiyo.... YUmMy!

chinese food in a box. fried noodles... not bad.

Day 3
Windmills, Cheese Farm, Shoe Factory
Amsterdam has many windmills!

Can you see the small ones behind me?

What a big shoe!

The gardens
