Easter Hols Part 5 - Prague, CZ

9, 10, 11, 12 Apr 2007

Prague is pretty. I agree with those who mentioned that, but there are lesser things to see as compared to Vienna. The 1st day was just arriving and settling down, and on the 2nd day, we spent alot of time at the easter markets! There were a few easter markets, one of them was really big, in the centre of the old town. It was really fun because they sold many different souvenirs, traditional food of Prague (this part i loved the most), easter eggs and decorative stuff and many more!

Entrance to the old town of Prague

Municipal House

St Nicholas Church

Church of Our Lady Before Tyn

Jewish Quarter (Josefov)

The easter market at the old town sqaure!

Rudolfinum Concert Hall

Clementinum

Old Town Bridge Tower

St. Charles Bridge
There were many artists drawing portraits along the bridge! Was tempted to get a portrait of us but it was too expensive.

Dancing House along the river

The church after we walked miles and climbed up a hill.

Nice view from the top!

The Prague castle (behind)

We posed this way and then we saw the next few tourists posing the same way as we did. Haha

The guard, stationary for don't know how long. We also caught the changing of guards!

Astronomical clock. The most beautiful thing in Prague to me, although i don't know how to read the time from it. Alot alot of people will crowd in front of the clock every hour when it strikes.

Ate a really good dinner at this restaurant near the old town. The price was good, it was hard to find prices of food in restaurants about the same as in Singapore!

This is me, overjoyed with a plate of rabbit leg! The cream was good. And the rice was really great, because at last.. it tasted like Singapore rice! haha... Europe rice has this different taste in them.

Daryl and the 1.2kg half duck!! It was really big. The best meal ever since January.

Got his haircut finally, at about 16 sing dollars. In finland, it costs about 20 euros!

Now, food!! There were many stalls selling hotdogs. Big and nice.

Traditional food of Prague. Placed in order of my preference. Haha.

Trdelnik. I LOVE this. It is crispy and hot on the outside of the ring like biscuits, and soft on the inside like bread. The combination of my 2 fav - biscuits and bread. I will miss eating this forever. If only i knew the recipe...

Babiccina placka. Grandmother's pancake (that's what we called it). It was flour-ish, which i like. And they put some tomato paste in it, with cheese and herbs. Simple yet really good.

ALmoND NUts Sweet.

Big biscuits. Not sure of the name... They have different paste inside the biscuits. The chocolate one taste like Apollo, but the hazelnut one was good!

Langose. Something like you tiao, but it was really BIG. The four of us sharing one also had some difficulties finishing it up.

This is NOT prague's tradition food. It is stroopwaffles again!!!! (holland's). The guy selling these waffles is from Holland, and he recognized my Heinekein jacket! (heineken's from holland). We loved the freshly baked stroopwaffles!
